A Husky Headliner Series Event

Stepping has long been a cultural tradition in the nine historic African American fraternities and sororities of the Pan-Hellenic Council, called the “Divine Nine.” Their members join in competitive, synchronized, step routines that create an incredible level of entertainment energy and audience excitement.

In stepping, the entire body becomes an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through spoken words, kicks, slam-steps and hand claps, all done in march and military-style formations.

Step Into Action features the UConn All-Stars, followed by teams from the Divine Nine and UConn’s Pivotal Motion, in a high-energy, percussive stomp-fest.

Don’t miss this stunning exhibition of teamwork and pride.


The Divine Nine includes Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Phi Alpha, Zeta Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Omega Psi Phi, Sigma Gamma Ro and Iota Phi Theta.

Co-sponsored by Jorgensen, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Student Union Board of Governors (SUBOG), and UConn Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
